Last Updated: August 2025
By using the Bolster app, you're agreeing to these terms. Please read them carefully. This version was updated in August 2025 to reflect service updates and improved clarity.
1. Who Can Use Bolster
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into contracts. By creating an account, you agree to follow these Terms & Conditions.
2. What Bolster Does
Bolster is a free personal finance app that helps you track and organize your financial life. We may also show you offers, recommendations, and educational content based on your info.
3. Accessing External Accounts
With your permission, Bolster can connect to your other accounts (like bank or credit card accounts) to gather information. We use third-party services to help with this. Bolster doesn't control or guarantee accuracy of third-party data.
4. Offers & Sponsored Content
We may show you third-party offers. These are matched to you based on your profile and may include credit cards, loans, and more. Bolster isn't responsible for what those companies offer or how they operate.
5. Creating an Account
You'll need to register and keep your info accurate. You're responsible for your password and account activity. If something looks suspicious, email us at support@bolster.co right away.
6. Using the App
Use Bolster only for legal, personal purposes. Your account is for you—not for others. We may update or pause services from time to time. Some new features (like beta or "Sneak Preview" tools) are optional and might not always work perfectly.
7. No Legal or Financial Advice
Bolster isn't a financial planner, tax advisor, or law firm. The app helps you organize your finances, but we don't give personalized legal or investment advice. Always talk to a professional before making big financial decisions.
8. Alerts
You may get email or mobile alerts (which you can customize). We try to send them promptly but can't guarantee delivery or accuracy. Always double-check the info in your account.
9. Data You Share
When you use Bolster, you give us permission to use your data to provide services. This includes connecting to your outside accounts and pulling your credit info if you opt in. Your data is used to personalize your experience and show relevant offers.
10. Intellectual Property
Everything in the app—text, graphics, tools, etc.—belongs to Bolster or its partners. You can use it for personal use only. Don't copy, sell, or misuse it.
11. Don't Be Sketchy
No bots, scrapers, viruses, reverse engineering, or any activity that could interfere with Bolster's functionality. Just use the app as intended.
12. No Guarantees
We do our best, but Bolster is provided "as-is." We don't guarantee accuracy, uninterrupted access, or error-free performance.
13. Limited Liability
If something goes wrong, our maximum liability to you is $500. We're not responsible for indirect damages like lost profits or data.
14. Ending Your Account
You can delete your account anytime in the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account. We may also suspend or delete accounts if needed, especially for misuse or policy violations.
15. Changes to Terms
We can update these Terms at any time. We'll notify you if the changes are significant. If you keep using the app after changes are posted, it means you agree to the new terms.
16. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by California law. Disputes will be handled through binding arbitration—no jury trials or class actions.
17. Apple Users
If you downloaded Bolster through Apple, you also agree to Apple's terms. Apple doesn't provide support for the app—we do.
18. Free Credit Score
By opting in, you authorize Bolster to access and display your TransUnion VantageScore 3.0. We may use your score to suggest relevant financial products.
Want the legal fine print? You can email us anytime at support@bolster.co. We're here to help.
